Snapshot.

As I've previously mentioned, I'm still without a working camera. Despite having the best intentions of buying a new one I've just not got round to it and now my GHDs have broken too - technology is failing me at the moment!
Nevertheless, my phone can always be relied upon for those impromptu photo opportunities so I thought I'd do a quick post on recent happenings.

From my trip to London, to my parcel from #AccessAllASOS, to the Halloween party where I unfortunately failed to arrive in costume, these photos suitably summarise the past couple of weeks.

If anything, looking through my phone photos has made me realise that I need to stop ordering so many burgers...

Cream of the crop.

L-R Clockwise: Zara, Topshop, River Island, H&M, ASOS

As you've probably guessed, I'm on the hunt for a new winter coat.
It's almost become a tradition for me to buy a new coat every year and despite the temperature dropping by the day I am yet to find the one.

If I even needed any motivation to speed up the buying process I have found out that mid-November I will be heading to New York City for a few days so I think that makes buying a warm coat a necessity, right?!

After doing a bit of browsing I've decided the five above have made it to the short list. I've always been a fan of a masculine cut, they're easily thrown on during the day with jeans and can still manage to look appropriate with the most glamorous of dresses.

Now all I have to do is make a decision. Something tells me it's not going to be as easy as it sounds...

Check mate.

I think I can confidently say you don't need an eye for fashion to realise that everyone has gone mad for plaid.
Tartan is everywhere at the moment and I'm getting the impression it's going to be sticking around for a while. Who'd of thought plaid skirts would be making a comeback after their days in Clueless?!
I've already indulged in a tartan shirt from Zara and after looking at these outfits I'm afraid to say I don't think that's going to be the only checkered addition to my wardrobe this winter...

Birthday Brunch

Good evening!
I'm currently tucked up in bed feeling rather sleepy but thought I'd do a quick post on today's brunch.

The Breakfast Club - I've been once before and at the time I didn't realise how popular it was. A couple of years ago we popped in for a cup of tea and didn't even try their amazing food so this time we decided to do it properly.

I was in London for the weekend visiting my friend for her birthday and as she lives just around the corner from the Battersea Rise cafe we dragged ourselves out of bed and into the queue. We waited for about half an hour in the rain but I would definitely do it all over again - 100% worth it.

I went for 'the full monty' - basically everything you'd associate with the typical fry up. Beans, sausage, bacon, tomato, mushroom, potatoes, eggs...the whole deal, and it was pretty impressive.

After our long wait we needed some good grub and The Breakfast Club delivered. Big portions, tasty food, a good atmosphere and to top it all off their bloody marys are possibly up there with the best I've had.

If only they had one in Manchester...

Photo round-up...

How quickly does the weekend go?!
After going out on both Friday and Saturday night I would looove a 3 day weekend right now but unfortunately it's back to work tomorrow.

On my way to pick up some bacon for Sunday brunch I stumbled across a pop-up vintage stall that had been set up literally about a minute away from my house. I was still half asleep and ever so slightly hungover so I didn't buy anything but I was definitely tempted by some of the chunky knits and vintage shirts.

When I began feeling slightly more human I nipped into town to have a mooch around the shops and before I knew it I was at the till in H&M (oops).
As you can probably tell on the photos above, I went a bit leather mad. I've already got a leather skirt but couldn't resist buying another seeing as it was only £14.99 (and I've seen Alexa Chung in one similar so that was enough to seal the deal).

I've also been after a pair of imitation leather trousers for a while now but was struggling to find some that fitted well, however, today was the day - after trying on about 5 pairs in various styles I finally settled on the perfect ones. H&M are definitely fulfilling my shopper needs at the moment!

In case you're wondering, the amazing looking food photo was taken in Manchester's Luck, Lust, Liquor & Burn last weekend. It's a little bar/restaurant in the Northern Quarter and it was definitely a treat for the tastebuds! I went for a chicken burrito but they're also home to 'Almost Famous' burgers after their venue got burnt down and I've heard they're worth a try.

Now time for some Breaking Bad before bed...

Hope you've enjoyed your weekend.

Autumn Leaves.

My road is beginning to look more and more autumnal every day. As the trees get barer and the pavements become hidden under leaves I think it's a sure sign that we're heading into Autumn.
I'm still struggling to get over the fact that it's the 2nd October?! In 2 months we'll be counting down to Christmas which seems nuts!

I've been a busy bee lately with trips to London and visits from friends so I've not yet had a chance to get myself a new camera (hence the lack of outfit posts) but that's on my list of things to sort out this weekend.

My favourite part of the colder months is the opportunities for layering, scarfs, jumpers, leggings, coats... you can literally throw on whatever you fancy with the excuse that it'll keep you warm (I'm also obsessed with knitwear - I can't wait to delve into my jumper filled drawers). As it gets colder there's also nothing better than snuggling up on the sofa with a hot chocolate and a good film, I'm not ashamed to say that I always look forward to Christmas TV - Love Actually and The Holiday are two of my all time favourites.

I've still not found my perfect winter coat yet but as soon as I do you'll be the first to hear about it.
In the mean time, here's a bit of inspiration to suit the seasons...
