Vacation

The day has finally arrived, one shift at work is all that stands between me and my flight to Vietnam.
I haven't quite finished packing, and I'm not feeling particularly organised but I have (almost) managed to fit all of my holiday clothes into one rucksack.
See you in 17 days!

The solo shopper...

Shopping alone - I am an advocate. You can spend however long you want in whichever shop you want, you can return to a shop as many times as you like and nobody's there to complain about it.
Don't get me wrong, I love going shopping with friends but when it's time to do some serious spending I choose to go it alone. There's nothing worse than having someone (who may have got a teeny bit bored of traipsing round Topshop for the 5th time) follow you around whilst you browse at the latest clothes on offer.
HOWEVER - I have recently stumbled across solo shopping's limitations. When it comes to making a life changing decision, such as 'do I need this 7th pair of skinny jeans?', who's there to help you decide?
Looking through my phone, I realised that I have resorted to a sort of 'phone a friend'. In short, I opt for a mirror selfie and promptly Whatsapp it to my friends for their verdict. 9 times out of 10, I get a speedy response and my dilemma is swiftly solved. Let's just hope they don't get sick of me inundating their phones with photos of me in a mirror, it could lead to a terrible decision...

Weekends.

Am I the only one who thinks that two days for a weekend just isn't enough?
Sunday night seems to rear its ugly head in the blink of an eye, which means that the two days off have to be packed with as many fun activities as possible (in my opinion).
Playing by my own rules, last weekend was spent in a gloriously sunny London. Gin on the train, exploring Borough Market, drinking prosecco on a roof terrace and having a boogie in Shoreditch - I spent the train journey home tired & miserable at the prospect the weekend was over.

As you've probably guessed, I'm more than excited that it's Easter bank holiday meaning we get a whole 4 days off work. So far mine has been spent eating sausage sandwiches in the sun, holiday shopping and having lunch with an old friend. The best part about it? There's still 3 days left...

In the navy...

Life of late...

Is it bad that you can generally tell where and what someone's been upto by having a quick scan of their Instagram?
My morning tram journey is spent browsing my Instagram feed, checking out everything from what people are wearing, to what they're having for breakfast.
People may moan about how they don't care what you're eating, what shoes you've got on, or what you look like in a range of filters but I am a self-confessed Instagram addict.
Whether I'm just nosey by nature, or whether I'm a fiend for any kind of social media, I thought I'd share with you what my Instagram's been looking like lately.
I know you're all dying to know what I've been eating, with whom and what I was wearing whilst doing it...

P.s. I'm a sucker for a good food photo.

Stripes

T-Shirt: ASOS, Necklace: Topshop, Trousers: H&M, Boots: Topshop, Jacket: Forever21

I've come to the conclusion that I've got a bit of a thing for leather and stripes, especially when worn together.
Over the years I've gradually built up quite the collection of stripey tops; long sleeved, loose, crop tops... I've got it covered.
Despite potentially having 'one too many', I recently managed to talk myself into buying another and added this ASOS T-Shirt to my selection. I decided today was the day for its first outing, so paired it with my trusty leather trousers before heading our for some Sunday lunch.
Last night was spent dancing to classics in Manchester's Liars Club whilst drinking 'Flaming Zombies' (a rum based cocktail, set alight with a blow torch before serving). Ofcourse, today I was feeling the after effects so decided the only cure would be a roast - the perfect way to spend a rainy Sunday.
Now, time to get some beauty sleep before another working week begins...

P.S. You may have noticed, my camera isn't exactly top notch and has had its fair share of wear and tear.
Any recommendations of good cameras that would be handy to take to Vietnam with me are very much welcome...

Miranda

The only thing Miranda hasn't got going for her is the fact that she's now divorced from Orlando Bloom.
Other than that, these photos by Mario Testino for the May cover of GQ are enough to turn me green with envy...
